“social”: we did a focus group with high school girls and they had trouble distinguishing between facebook and the internet. the web is a social place. sharing is becoming as much of the event as the event itself. if you take a photo and don’t share it…did you really take the photo?
“real time”: leaders define expectations. as soon as you could get sports scores, whether reports and stock prices instantly, everything else must follow. If your flight is delayed, you’d expect to be notified instantly. consumers want to consume information NOW. in snackable ways.
“mobile”: personalized devices are one thing. reasonable data plan pricing is another. the combo is unstoppable. i believe we’ve only started to truly grasp the power of this device— from business opportunities to social information to economic development and posterity.
“in-store/online”: (offline/online): consumers consume via web, via in-store, via on mobile… this means brands/retailers need to shift services in order to mimic consumer’s behaviors. Support and encourage the three platform approach and realize that store is not just for shopping, online is not just for browsing… My needs are slightly different depending on where I am and ultimately what mood i’m in.
“flirty skirts” (i couldn’t help it…) we are seeing floral, buttons and patterns on these darling skirts. women from around the world are craving spring by showing off their girlish-power.
